Shavuot/Pentecost 2010 Power from on high  Beth Goyim

HB004 Power from on high – Shavu`ot Lessons

Act. 2:1 The festival of Shavu`ot (Feast of Weeks, pentecost) arrived, and the believers all gathered together in one place.

Act. 2:2 Suddenly there came a sound from the sky like the roar of a violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.

Act. 2:3 Then they saw what looked like tongues of fire, which separated and came to rest on each one of them.

Act. 2:4 They were all filled with the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy spirit) and began to talk in different languages, as the spirit enabled them to speak.

Act. 2:5 Now there were staying in Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) religious Jews from every nation under heaven.

Act. 2:6 When they heard this sound, a crowd gathered; they were confused, because each one heard the believer speaking in his own language.

In a Hebrew wedding they when a man and a woman get married the each sign a Ketubah (Marriage contract) to proclaim their love for each other infront of Adonai and their community. Within Christianity it is usually taught that the “church” was born at this day of “Pentecost” or  Shavu`ot. However, the Bible doesn’t say that. Most people when they see “Pentecost” they think of a new feast, the birth of something new, to these early Jewish and Proselyte (Gentile convert to Judaism) followers of Yeshua. However, the truth reveals itself when you Hunger for the “Pure milk of the Word” (1 Pt. 2:2). If you take a look at the first Shavu`ot in Sh’mot (Exodus) 19 & 20 we very plainly see an event that matches what happened on the same day. Remember the scene on the mountain and the sound of Adonai’s voice? This day, Shavu`ot, was the day Adonai separated Isra’el to himself (Ex. 19:5, 6). He set us FREE from Sin and gave us “TORAH”. Now who is Isra’el? Israel is the community of people, Jews and Gentiles, that left Mitzrayim (Egypt), to follow Adonai to the promise land. Here was the anniversary of the agreement to our Ketubah. Are you truly married to your King?
