Marriage is...Perseverance and Endurance

Perseverance and endurance are essential elements of Yeshua’s relationship to His betrothed here on the earth. Yeshua demonstrated His endurance and perseverance in the face of mockers and attackers. He chose to stand in the face of the attacks for the sake of His bride. Because He did not want for the shame of sin to dishonor His bride on the day of the wedding, He endured the attacks and the crucifixion for the sake of His bride-to-be and the family He would have into eternity.

The Lord knows the trials that will befall anyone who engages in the covenant of marriage. However, the Lord has promised that He will be the one to help you in this commitment if you call on His name and trust in His counsel, not mans.

Adonai has been dealing with the powers of darkness as they have tried to tear his betrothed away from Him since the beginning. He will understand the temptations and the miscommunications and the hurts that feel as if they will destroy the marriage.

They worshipped the dragon, because he had given his authority to the beast; and they worshipped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast? Who can fight against it?" It was given a mouth speaking arrogant blasphemies; and it was given authority to act for forty-two months. So it opened its mouth in blasphemies against God to insult his name and his Sh'khinah, and those living in heaven; it was allowed to make war on God's holy people and to defeat them; and it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. Everyone living on earth will worship it except those whose names are written in the Book of Life belonging to the Lamb slaughtered before the world was founded. Those who have ears, let them hear! "If anyone is meant for captivity, into captivity he goes! If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword he is to be killed!"  This is when God's holy people must persevere and trust!

There is a great beauty and power that is revealed when we observe a lighthouse standing and shining in the rage of a terrible hurricane. Man has historically had an attraction and love of these structures because of the strength and security they represent. Not only do they shelter the keeper of the lighthouse, but the light also provides a vital service to the ships and their passengers during their travels.

A marriage grounded in Gods ways and in the Word will act as a beacon of light and a safety place in a storm to the couple, their family, and the community all around them. Marriages that endure will grow in strength. Solid marriages are designed by the Lord to be the foundation of a Godly society.

Endurance, in Hebrew, connotes this type of standing firm. Endurance is standing still, when the enemy wants you to panic and retreat, or get angry and attack in a rage.

Moshe's father-in-law said to him, "What you are doing isn't good. You will certainly wear yourself out — and not only yourself, but these people here with you as well. It's too much for you — you can't do it alone, by yourself. So listen now to what I have to say.

I will give you some advice, and God will be with you. You should represent the people before God, and you should bring their cases to God. You should also teach them the laws and the teachings, and show them how to live their lives and what work they should do. But you should choose from among all the people competent men who are God-fearing, honest and incorruptible to be their leaders, in charge of thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens. Normally, they will settle the people's disputes. They should bring you the difficult cases; but ordinary matters they should decide themselves. In this way, they will make it easier for you and share the load with you. If you do this — and God is directing you to do it — you will be able to endure; and all these people too will arrive at their destination peacefully." Moshe paid attention to his father-in-law's counsel and did everything he said.

Exodus 18:17-24

Yeshua is the eternal bridegroom and we are His bride. All marriages are expected to carry this message to the world

In the Word, The concept of endurance centers on the Name of the Lord. It is He who will endure forever. We are not designed to endure forever. That is the miracle of salvation. That we, who are transient and made of dust, can, by the power of The Blood of Yeshua, endure forever with Him.

My days decline like an evening shadow; I am drying up like grass. But you, Adonai, are enthroned forever; your renown will endure through all generations

Psalm 102:11-12

But now, Adonai, you are our father; we are the clay, you are our potter; and we are all the work of your hands. Do not be so very angry, Adonai! Don't remember crime forever. Look, please, we are all your people.  Your holy cities have become a desert, Tziyon a desert, Yerushalayim a ruin. Our holy, beautiful house, where our ancestors used to praise you, has been burned to the ground; all we cherished has been ruined.  Adonai, after all this, will you still hold back? Will you still stay silent and punish us past endurance?

Isaiah 64:8-12

"Look! I am sending my messenger to clear the way before me; and the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to his temple. Yes, the messenger of the covenant, in whom you take such delight — look! Here he comes," says Adonai-Tzva'ot. But who can endure the day when he comes?

Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner's fire, like the soapmaker's lye.

He will sit, testing and purifying the silver; he will purify the sons of Levi, refining them like gold and silver, so that they can bring offerings to Adonai uprightly. Then the offering of Y'hudah and Yerushalayim will be pleasing to Adonai, as it was in the days of old, as in years gone by. "Then I will approach you for judgment; and I will be quick to witness against sorcerers, adulterers and perjurers; against those who take advantage of wage-earners, widows and orphans; against those who

rob the foreigner of his rights and don't fear me," says Adonai-Tzva'ot. 

"But because I, Adonai, do not change, you sons of Ya`akov will not be destroyed.

Malachi3:1-6

There is no marriage that is free of troubles. The couple who keeps Adonai in the center of their marriage will blaze His light in the midst of every storm.
