900 The faith of a mustard seed
SYNOPSIS: in today’s HaShabbat lesson we are going to study what the faith of the mustard seed biblically means. Can we really move mountains? What are the mountains anyway? If we were to latterly throw a mountain into the sea, would not it cause a tsunami? So what is the biblical meaning behind YESHUA’S words; “I tell you that if you have trust as tiny as a mustard seed, you will be able to say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there!' and it will move; indeed, nothing will be impossible for you!"

Mat 17:17 Yeshua answered, "Perverted people, without any trust! How long will I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring him here to me!"

B’resheet (Gen) 12:1-3 a seven fold promise.
Gen 12:1 Now YEHOVAH said to Avram, "Get yourself out of your country, away from your kinsmen and away from your father's house, and go to the land that I will show you.
Gen 12:2 I will make of you a great nation, I will bless you, and I will make your name great; and you are to be a blessing.
Gen 12:3 I will bless those who bless you, but I will curse anyone who curses you; and by you all the families of the earth will be blessed."
B’resheet (Gen) 12:7 YEHOVAH appeared to Avram.
Gen 12:7 YEHOVAH appeared to Avram and said, "To your descendants I will give this land." So he built an altar there to YEHOVAH, who had appeared to him.
B’resheet (Gen) 12:10-13 Please say that you are my sister.
Gen 12:10 But there was a famine in the land, so Avram went down into Egypt to stay there, because the famine in the land was severe.
B’resheet (Gen) 15:1-6 almost a mountain.
Gen 15:1 Some time later the word of YEHOVAH came to Avram in a vision: "Don't be afraid, Avram. I am your protector; your reward will be very great."
Gen 15:2 Avram replied, "YEHOVAH, God, what good will your gifts be to me if I continue childless; and Eli`ezer from Dammesek inherits my possessions?
B’resheet (Gen) 16:1-2 more mountains pop up overnight.
Gen 16:1 Now Sarai Avram's wife had not borne him a child. But she had an Egyptian slave-girl named Hagar;
Gen 16:2 so Sarai said to Avram, "Here now, YEHOVAH has kept me from having children; so go in and sleep with my slave-girl. Maybe I'll be able to have children through her." Avram listened to what Sarai said.
B’resheet (Gen) 17:17-19 at 100 years old still putting up mountain.
Gen 17:17 At this Avraham fell on his face and laughed—he thought to himself, "Will a child be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah give birth at ninety?"
Gen 17:18 Avraham said to God, "If only Yishma`el could live in your presence!"
Gen 17:19 God answered, "No, but Sarah your wife will bear you a son, and you are to call him Yitz'chak [laughter]. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.
B’resheet (Gen) 20:1-2 after all those signs and wonders you still don’t have the faith of a mustard seed.
Gen 20:1 Avraham traveled from there toward the Negev and lived between Kadesh and Shur. While living as an alien in G'rar,
Gen 20:2 Avraham was saying of Sarah his wife, "She is my sister"; so Avimelekh king of G'rar sent and took Sarah.
B’resheet (Gen) 21:5 twenty-five years have passed.
Gen 21:5 Avraham was one hundred years old when his son Yitz'chak [laughter] was born to him.
B’resheet (Gen) 22:1-18 the final mountain.
Gen 22:2 He said, "Take your son, your only son, whom you love, Yitz'chak; and go to the land of Moriyah. There you are to offer him as a burnt offering on a mountain that I will point out to you."
B’resheet (Gen) 32:7-12 the mountain called coward is alive and well in the Patriarch’s.
Gen 32:7 The messengers returned to Ya`akov saying, "We went to your brother `Esav, and he is coming to meet you; with him are four hundred men."
Ester 4:10-14 the faith of a mustard seed or…
Est 4:13 asked them to give Ester this answer: "Don't suppose that merely because you happen to be in the royal palace you will escape any more than the other Jews.
Est 4:14 For if you fail to speak up now, relief and deliverance will come to the Jews from a different direction; but you and your father's family will perish. Who knows whether you didn't come into your royal position precisely for such a time as this."
Mattiyahu (Mat) 14:25-32 walking on water, the faith of the mustard seed.
Mat 14:29 "Come!" he said. So Kefa got out of the boat and walked on the water toward Yeshua.
