MESSIANIC LESSON

930 Those that don’t study the past are doomed

SYNOPSIS: This lesson has been in my spirit all week. I saw a video that took place in Israel on Monday at the Knesset. There was actual fist fighting going on in that building. Actual fighting between government officials. Hebrew Brother verse Hebrew brother. What is the fighting about? Has this happened to Israel in the past? If so what was that outcome? Is this a true sign of the end? When one Israeli government official is calling for the bloodshed of another official. The reason being because one wants to follow Torah and the other does not.  In this lesson we are going to study biblical history that is happening in our world today. This will be a massive note taking message. So get a few pens and a lot of paper.

(JNS) The opposition rhetoric being heaped on the Netanyahu government’s judicial reform plan kicked up a notch on Monday. Public figures spoke of fighting in the streets, moving to a new, warlike stage, and restoring Israel’s democracy through bloodshed. The extreme discourse is making it much harder to conduct a rational dialogue, analysts told JNS.

B’resheet (Gen) 37:4 they can not even speak to each other civilly.

Ref: Gen 37:4  When his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they began to hate him and reached the point where they couldn't even talk with him in a civil manner.

Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai made headlines on Monday when he said that countries become dictatorships through the democratic process but “do not become democratic again except through bloodshed.” Vying with Huldai was former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. Nodding toward the Knesset walls, he said, “It’s good to see 100,000 people here, but that’s not what will lead the real fight. The real fight will break through these fences and take us into a real war.”

B’resheet (Gen) 19:9 break the door down, where were they?

Gen 19:9  "Stand back!" they replied. "This guy came to live here, and now he's decided to play judge. For that we'll deal worse with you than with them!" Then they crowded in on Lot, in order to get close enough to break down the door.

Netanyahu on Monday called on the opposition to lower the flames following the protest outside the Knesset and a tempestuous Knesset committee meeting, in which opposition members jumped on tables and had to be forcibly expelled.

Cain & Havel…ref. Gen 4:8  Kayin had words with Hevel his brother; then one time, when they were in the field, Kayin turned on Hevel his brother and killed him.

Ya’akov & Esav…Ref. Gen 27:41  `Esav hated his brother because of the blessing his father had given him. `Esav said to himself, "The time for mourning my father will soon come, and then I will kill my brother Ya`akov."

Yoseph & brothers…Ref. Gen 37:20  So come now, let's kill him and throw him into one of these water cisterns here. Then we'll say some wild animal devoured him. We'll see then what becomes of his dreams!"

Moshe & Korach…Ref. Num 16:13  Is it such a mere trifle, bringing us up from a land flowing with milk and honey to kill us in the desert, that now you arrogate to yourself the role of dictator over us?

YESHUA & the Pharisees… Joh 11:53  From that day on, they made plans to have him put to death.

1 Sh’mu’el (Sam) 8:1-3 the corrupt justice system.

1Sa 8:1  When Sh'mu'el grew old, he appointed his sons as judges over Isra'el.

1Sa 8:2  His firstborn was named Yo'el, while his second son was named Aviyah; they were judges in Be'er-Sheva.

1Sa 8:3  However, his sons did not follow his way of life; they turned off it to pursue riches, so that they would take bribes to distort justice.

Ref. Exo 18:21  But you should choose from among all the people competent men who are God-fearing, honest and incorruptible to be their leaders, in charge of thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens. Exo 18:22  Normally, they will settle the people's disputes. They should bring you the difficult cases; but ordinary matters they should decide themselves. In this way, they will make it easier for you and share the load with you.

Sh’mu’el sons were none of this

1 Sh’mu’el 8:4-7 they are rejecting me.

1Sa 8:4  All the leaders of Isra'el gathered themselves together, approached Sh'mu'el in Ramah

1Sa 8:5  and said to him, "Look, you have grown old, and your sons are not following your ways. Now make us a king to judge us like all the nations."

1Sa 8:6  Sh'mu'el was not pleased to hear them say, "Give us a king to judge us"; so he prayed to YEHOVAH.

1Sa 8:7  YEHOVAH said to Sh'mu'el, "Listen to the people, to everything they say to you; for it is not you they are rejecting; they are rejecting me; they don't want me to be king over them.

modern Israel is no different then ancient Israel

1 Sh’mu’el (Sam) 8:8-18 do what they say, but give them a sober warning.

1Sa 8:8  They are doing to you exactly what they have been doing to me, from the day I brought them out of Egypt until today, by abandoning me and serving other gods.

1Sa 8:14

1Sa 8:18

Yirmeyahu (Jer) 6:16-19 tell them this.

Jer 6:16  Here is what YEHOVAH says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask about the ancient paths, 'Which one is the good way?' Take it, and you will find rest for your souls. But they said, 'We will not take it.'

Jer 6:17  I appointed sentinels to direct them: 'Listen for the sound of the shofar.' But they said, 'We will not listen.'

Jer 6:18  So hear, you nations; know, you assembly, what there is against them.

Jer 6:19  Hear, oh earth! I am going to bring disaster on this people; it is the consequence of their own way of thinking; for they pay no attention to my words; and as for my Torah, they reject it.

Rom 15:4  For everything written in the past was written to teach us, so that with the encouragement of the Tanakh we might patiently hold on to our hope.

Everything written in the past was written to teach us!!!
