369 Salt and the Temple
Salt in your temple! What an unusual title for a message? Yet there are multiple references to salt in the Scriptures. Messiah Yeshua made reference to salt when He said to His disciples in Mathew 5:13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored?” What then is the significance of salt?
Matthew 5:17 "You are salt for the Land. But if salt becomes tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything except being thrown out for people to trample on.
What is Yeshua Saying about the salt? Why would he say "How blessed you are" then follow it with Mathew 5:13 “How blessed you are when people insult you and persecute you and tell all kinds of vicious lies about you because you follow me! First, we have to understand these set of scriptures from a Hebraic perspective. We have to forget for a moment that we are American’s, Hispanic, or any other ethnic group for a moment. Then we have to remember that Yeshua was, is, and always will be a Jew. We also need to understand that He is talking to the Jewish people. What does salt do? It draws poison out of our system. It actually heals, protects, and purifies. In addition, pure salt is odorless, but did you know that salt that is impure smells after the acid or the base? As followers of Yeshua, we are responsible for the temple. We cannot look back at our old nature, but we must continue to be seasoned by the word of God. That way, “we are not thrown out” as it speaks about in Matthew 5:13. Sometimes you bring truth to people, and they do not want to hear the truth. We have to be that salt, so that the light of the world (Yeshua) may shine forth His word, and bring healing, purification, and protection. Without salt, you cannot be a light to the nations. We are the temple of the Ruach. We need to have our lives set on the salt principle. This message will teach us the SALT Principal.
