HB004 Shavuot 2016

“The Bread of Life is His commandments”

SYNOPSIS: What are the purpose of THE HOLY DAYS? Why does Yehovah want us to still keep them? In this Holy day message were looking at Shavout (Feast of weeks “Pentecost”). Why is this a Holy day that does not have a specific date associated with it? What is so important about counting? What is so important about bringing bread from each of our homes? What is the last day implication of this Holy day for the entire world?

THEME 1: COUNTING AND BREAD Lev 23:17  You must bring bread from your homes for waving — two loaves made with one gallon of fine flour, baked with leaven — as firstfruits for Adonai. This is a simple yet extremely deeply eternal statement. How can bringing bread from each one of our homes be so significant to each person’s eternity? How could two loaves of bread that I am going to wave in the air be so intrical to the master plan of salvation? What does this have to do with this

THEME 2: THE TRUE UNDERSTANDING WHAT HE MEANS NOW Joh 6:48  I am the bread which is life. That has to do with this. Yochanan 14:24-26 Joh 14:24  Someone who doesn't love me doesn't keep my words — and the word you are hearing is not my own but that of the Father who sent me. Joh 14:25  "I have told you these things while I am still with you. Joh 14:26  But the Counselor, the Ruach HaKodesh, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything; that is, he will remind you of everything I have said to you. That has to do with this. Rev 20:12  And I saw the dead, both great and small, standing in front of the throne. Books were opened; and another book was opened, the Book of Life; and the dead were judged from what was written in the books, according to what they had done.

THEME 3: WOW NOW I TRULY UNDERSTAND IT Act 1:3  After his death he showed himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. During a period of forty days they saw him, and he spoke with them about the Kingdom of God. Act 1:4  At one of these gatherings, he instructed them not to leave Yerushalayim but to "wait for what the Father promised, which you heard about from me.

So let us start our journey to the utmost knowledge about this incredible day called Shavuot

Vayikra 23:15-17 counting why do we have to count if it is a set day?

Lev 23:15  " 'From the day after the day of rest — that is, from the day you bring the sheaf for waving — you are to count seven full weeks,

Lev 23:15-16

THEME 1: COUNTING AND BREAD WHY COUNT 50 DAYS

What is the purpose

Lev 23:15  " 'From the day after the day of rest — that is, from the day you bring the sheaf for waving — you are to count seven full weeks, Lev 23:16  until the day after the seventh week; you are to count fifty days; and then you are to present a new grain offering to Adonai.

B’resheet 13:14-16 count your desendance

Gen 13:16  and I will make your descendants as numerous as the specks of dust on the earth — so that if a person can count the specks of dust on the earth, then your descendants can be counted.

Gen 30:33  And I will let my integrity stand as witness against me in the future: when you come to look over the animals constituting my wages, every goat that isn't speckled or spotted and every sheep that isn't brown will count as stolen by me."

Integrity H6666 צדקה  tsedâqâh BDB Definition: justice, righteousness

Lev 15:13  " 'When a person with a discharge has become free of it, he is to count seven days for his purification. Then he is to wash his clothes and bathe his body in running water; after that, he will be clean.

Num 3:14  Adonai said to Moshe in the Sinai Desert, Num 3:15  "Take a census of the tribe of Levi by clans and families. Count every male a month old or over."

Lev 23:17  You must bring bread from your homes for waving — two loaves made with one gallon of fine flour, baked with leaven — as firstfruits for Adonai.

B’resheet 3:17-19 Listen to Yehovah over anyone else. Follow His word.

Gen 3:17  To Adam he said, "Because you listened to what your wife said and ate from the tree about which I gave you the order, 'You are not to eat from it,' the ground cursed on your account; you will work hard to eat from it as long as you live. Gen 3:18  It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat field plants. Gen 3:19  You will eat bread by the sweat of your forehead till you return to the ground — for you were taken out of it: you are dust, and you will return to dust."

Gen 3:19

B’resheet 14:18-20 give back to the King of Righteousness and He will out bless you

Gen 14:18  Malki-Tzedek king of Shalem brought out bread and wine. He was cohen of El `Elyon [God Most High], Gen 14:19  so he blessed him with these words: "Blessed be Avram by El `Elyon, maker of heaven of earth.Gen 14:20  and blessed be El `Elyon, who handed your enemies over to you." Avram gave him a tenth of everything.

B’resheet 18:1-5 The promise of Elohim for your home

Gen 18:1  Yehovah appeared to Avraham by the oaks of Mamre as he sat at the entrance to the tent during the heat of the day. Gen 18:2  He raised his eyes and looked, and there in front of him stood three men. On seeing them, he ran from the tent door to meet them, prostrated himself on the ground, Gen 18:3  and said, "My lord, if I have found favor in your sight, please don't leave your servant.

Gen 18:4  Please let me send for some water, so that you can wash your feet; then rest under the tree, Gen 18:5  and I will bring a piece of bread. Now that you have come to your servant, refresh yourselves before going on." "Very well," they replied, "do what you have said."

Key words: Yehovah appeared, three men or Elohim, welcoming them into your home with bread

THEME 2: THE TRUE UNDERSTANDING WHAT HE MEANS NOW

D’varim 16:10-11

Deu 16:10  You are to observe the festival of Shavu`ot [weeks] for Adonai your God with a voluntary offering, which you are to give in accordance with the degree to which Adonai your God has prospered you. Deu 16:11  You are to rejoice in the presence of Adonai your God - you, your sons and daughters, your male and female slaves, the L'vi'im living in your towns, and the foreigners, orphans and widows living among you - in the place where Adonai your God will choose to have his name live.

Sh’mot 12:1-6

Exo 12:6  " 'You are to keep it until the fourteenth day of the month, and then the entire assembly of the community of Isra'el will slaughter it at dusk.

Exo 12:43  Adonai said to Moshe and Aharon, "This is the regulation for the Pesach lamb: no foreigner is to eat it. Exo 12:44  But if anyone has a slave he bought for money, when you have circumcised him, he may eat it.

Exo 12:49  The same teaching is to apply equally to the citizen and to the foreigner living among you." Exo 12:50  All the people of Isra'el did just as Adonai had ordered Moshe and Aharon. Exo 12:51  On that very day, Adonai brought the people of Isra'el out of the land of Egypt by their divisions.

Sh’mot 13 the setting aside of the firstborn. Fulfillment of the promise to Yoseph not to leave his bones

Exo 13:1  Adonai said to Moshe, Exo 13:2  "Set aside for me all the firstborn. Whatever is first from the womb among the people of Isra'el, both of humans and of animals, belongs to me."

Exo 13:19  Moshe took the bones of Yosef with him, for Yosef had made the people of Isra'el swear an oath when he said, "God will certainly remember you; and you are to carry my bones up with you, away from here." Exo 13:20  They traveled from Sukkot and set up camp in Etam, at the edge of the desert.

Sh’mot 14 the reed sea and the mighty hand of Yehovah

Exo 14:13  Moshe answered the people, "Stop being so fearful! Remain steady, and you will see how Adonai is going to save you. He will do it today — today you have seen the Egyptians, but you will never see them again! Exo 14:14  Adonai will do battle for you. Just calm yourselves down!"

Exo 14:21  Moshe reached his hand out over the sea, and Adonai caused the sea to go back before a strong east wind all night. He made the sea become dry land, and its water was divided in two. Exo 14:22  Then the people of Isra'el went into the sea on the dry ground, with the water walled up for them on their right and on their left.

Sh’mot 16 crying about food not having any. Saying we wish the He killed us in Egypt. So quickly we forget. MANNA and on the sixth day a double portion, also quails.

Exo 16:1  They traveled on from Eilim, and the whole community of the people of Isra'el arrived at the Seen Desert, between Eilim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after leaving the land of Egypt. Exo 16:2  There in the desert the whole community of the people of Isra'el grumbled against Moshe and Aharon. Exo 16:3  The people of Isra'el said to them, "We wish Adonai had used his own hand to kill us off in Egypt! There we used to sit around the pots with the meat boiling, and we had as much food as we wanted. But you have taken us out into this desert to let this whole assembly starve to death!"

Sh’mot 16 crying about food not having any. Saying we wish the He killed us in Egypt. So quickly we forget.

Exo 16:4  Adonai said to Moshe, "Here, I will cause bread to rain down from heaven for you. The people are to go out and gather a day's ration every day. By this I will test whether they will observe my Torah or not. Exo 16:5  On the sixth day, when they prepare what they have brought in, it will turn out to be twice as much as they gather on the other days."

Exo 16:12  "I have heard the grumblings of the people of Isra'el. Say to them: 'At dusk you will be eating meat, and in the morning you will have your fill of bread. Then you will realize that I am Adonai your God.' " Exo 16:13  That evening, quails came up and covered the camp; while in the morning there was a layer of dew all around the camp.

Shavuot is remembering how in the desert He provides for those that walk in His light

Exo 16:29  Look, Adonai has given you the Shabbat. This is why he is providing bread for two days on the sixth day. Each of you, stay where you are; no one is to leave his place on the seventh day." Exo 16:30  So the people rested on the seventh day.

Sh’mot 19:1-25

Exo 19:1  In the third month after the people of Isra'el had left the land of Egypt, the same day they came to the Sinai Desert.

Exo 19:3  Moshe went up to God, and Adonai called to him from the mountain: "Here is what you are to say to the household of Ya`akov, to tell the people of Isra'el:

Exo 19:4  'You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I carried you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself.

Sore high

Eagles wings: Isa 40:31  but those who hope in Adonai will renew their strength, they will soar aloft as with eagles' wings; when they are running they won't grow weary, when they are walking they won't get tired.

Exo 19:5  Now if you will pay careful attention to what I say and keep my covenant, then you will be my own treasure from among all the peoples, for all the earth is mine; Exo 19:6  and you will be a kingdom of cohanim for me, a nation set apart.' These are the words you are to speak to the people of Isra'el."

A kingdom not just a nation

Exo 19:7  Moshe came, summoned the leaders of the people and presented them with all these words which Adonai had ordered him to say. Exo 19:8  All the people answered as one, "Everything Adonai has said, we will do." Moshe reported the words of the people to Adonai.

Exo 19:10  so Adonai said to Moshe, "Go to the people; today and tomorrow separate them for me by having them wash their clothing; Exo 19:11  and prepare for the third day. For on the third day, Adonai will come down on Mount Sinai before the eyes of all the people.

Exo 19:10  so Adonai said to Moshe, "Go to the people; today and tomorrow separate them for me by having them wash their clothing; Exo 19:11  and prepare for the third day. For on the third day, Adonai will come down on Mount Sinai before the eyes of all the people.

Exo 19:12  You are to set limits for the people all around; and say, 'Be careful not to go up on the mountain or even touch its base; whoever touches the mountain will surely be put to death. Exo 19:13  No hand is to touch him; for he must be stoned or shot by arrows; neither animal nor human will be allowed to live.' When the shofar sounds, they may go up on the mountain."

Exo 19:14  Moshe went down from the mountain to the people and separated the people for God, and they washed their clothing.Exo 19:15  He said to the people, "Prepare for the third day; don't approach a woman."

Ref Lev 18:19  You are not to approach a woman in order to have sexual relations with her when she is unclean from her time of niddah.

Exo 19:16  On the morning of the third day, there was thunder, lightning and a thick cloud on the mountain. Then a shofar blast sounded so loudly that all the people in the camp trembled.

Exo 19:17  Moshe brought the people out of the camp to meet God; they stood near the base of the mountain. Exo 19:18  Mount Sinai was enveloped in smoke, because Adonai descended onto it in fire — its smoke went up like the smoke from a furnace, and the whole mountain shook violently.

Exo 19:19  As the sound of the shofar grew louder and louder, Moshe spoke; and God answered him with a voice.

Exo 19:20  Adonai came down onto Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain; then Adonai called Moshe to the top of the mountain; and Moshe went up. Exo 19:21  Adonai said to Moshe, "Go down and warn the people not to force their way through to Adonai to see him; if they do, many of them will perish.

Sh’mot 20:1-17

Exo 20:2  א "I am Adonai your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the abode of slavery.

Exo 20:3  ב "You are to have no other gods before me.

Exo 20:7  ג "You are not to use lightly the name of Adonai your God, because Adonai will not leave unpunished someone who uses his name lightly.
