SYNOPSIS: Yom Kippur is about intimacy and confession. Going beyond the veil to meet face to face with Yehovah Himself. Yom Kippur is about one goat taking away the sins of all Israel. Sounds more like the Brit HaDasha then Torah. Learn the keys on this holy day of going beyond the veil and not dying.

 

SECTION 1: YOM KIPPUR. Vayikra (Lev) 23:26-32 Yom Kippur is for the world not just in Israel

 

THEME 2: GOING BEYOND THE VEIL. Sh’mot (Ex) 26:30-33 The Holy Place. Entering into a place of intimacy where He will know you fully. Mattiyahu (Mat) 25:1-13 hear the cry, get ready, wait for the bridegroom, go in and be with HIM on His day. 1 Corinthians 13:11-13 Face to Face and not die. Ya’akov (Jam) 4:4-10 going from unfaithful to a faithful and entering into the most holy place. Vayikra (Lev) 16:1-13 The bridal chamber and the specific time. B’resheet (Gen) 24:61-67 The Bridal Veil… bride of the covenant. B’midbar (Num) 12:5-8 where does the King of all creation speak intimately with those that are His. 1 Corinthians 13:12-13 face to face like a close or intimate friend. Lev 23:31  You are not to do any kind of work; it is a permanent regulation through all your generations, no matter where you live.

2) to afflict, oppress, humble, be afflicted, be bowed down

THEME 2: GOING BEYOND THE VEIL. Sh’mot (Ex) 26:30-33 The Holy Place. Entering into a place of intimacy where He will know you fully

Exo 26:33  Hang the curtain below the fasteners. Then bring the ark for the testimony inside the curtain; the curtain will be the divider for you between the Holy Place and the Especially Holy Place.

 

Mattiyahu (Mat) 25:1-13 hear the cry, get ready, wait for the bridegroom, go in and be with HIM on His day

Mat 25:13  So stay alert, because you know neither the day nor the hour

Kol Nidrei means “all vows” and is the name given to the special liturgical formulation chanted by Jews solely on Yom Kippur. It is a legal formula for the annulment of vows, which dates back many centuries.

Lev 16:17  No one is to be present in the tent of meeting from the time he enters the Holy Place to make atonement until the time he comes out, having made atonement for himself, for his household and for the entire community of Isra'el.

 

Lev 23:28  You are not to do any kind of work on that day, because it is Yom-Kippur, to make atonement for you before Yehovah your God.

Lev 23:29  Anyone who does not deny himself on that day is to be cut off from his people;

 

Atonement Agreement; concord; reconciliation, after enmity or controversy.

 

Lev 23:31 

 

Permanent H5769  עלם  /  עולם  ‛ôlâm BDB Definition: 1) long duration, antiquity, futurity, for ever, ever, everlasting, evermore, perpetual, old, ancient, world 2)  always, continuous existence, perpetual 3) everlasting, indefinite or unending future, eternity

 

Sh’mot (Ex) 21:29-30 the substitution.

Exo 21:29  However, if the ox was in the habit of goring in the past, and the owner was warned but did not confine it, so that it ended up killing a man or a woman; then the ox is to be stoned, and its owner too is to be put to death. Exo 21:30  However, a ransom may be imposed on him; and the death penalty will be commuted if he pays the amount imposed.
